You say that delivery and installation in your delivery zone are included in the price. What is your delivery area?
Delivery is included in the price in the New England area only, specifically within 90 minutes of Boston, Massachusetts or Portland, Maine. Kids Cottages only serves clients in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
We're sorry: Kids Cottages does not serve clients outside this area.

I hate making design decisions. I have an idea of what I want but I'm not sure what is the best way to achieve it.
No problem! Having built hundreds of playhouses, we have a pretty good idea how to design a playhouse that will look great in your landscape and still incorporate what is most important to you.
Our best playhouses are a collaboration between our client's dreams and our experience.

How does the ordering/payment process work?
It starts with your phone call to us! 877-207-4051 We will work with you to design a playhouse to fit your needs and budget. When you decide you are ready to order, we will put your name on our Build List. We will ask you to send a non-refundable $100 deposit to hold your place in our schedule. When it is time to build your playhouse, we will contact you to finalize details and we will ask you to send a half deposit for materials. When your playhouse is delivered you will be asked to pay the remainder of the bill at that time. Kids Cottages does not take credit cards but does accept checks.

How long will it take to get my order once I have placed it?
Kids Cottages only does a limited number of playhouses per year, each one
custom made to order. Usually we are booked for the spring/summer delivery season
by the end of May so it is important to place your order early. The best time to place
orders? November to March if you want an early summer delivery. Once we begin
building your playhouse, it usually takes 2-6 weeks before delivery depending on the
complexity of the project.

How should I choose and prepare the site where my playhouse will be?
Delivering and installing playhouses is the trickiest part of what we do. Lots of communication is needed! Here's a great question to ask: Could you drive to the site? Or would there be trees, walls, fences, or drop-offs in the way?
In our quest to deliver playhouses, we have found that most fences can be taken apart and put back together. Many trees and bushes have enough elasticity that they can be pushed to one side temporarily. Sometimes playhouses can be rolled on rollers to the site. We regularly do these things for little or no charge.
Please note: Playhouses must rest on a level site! In cases where there is a drop of more than 2-4 inches over a 6-foot area, we recommend that you have us build a small platform to create a level spot. Short grass, bark mulch, or gravel are all appropriate bases. Your playhouse will be set up on patio blocks upon delivery to keep it up off the ground and avoid rot.
(Deliveries requiring feats of heroism or risk to life and limb may require a small additional charge!)

Why don't you sell prefabricated playhouses?
We think the process of designing and building playhouse ought to be lots of fun. That's why we focus on making only one playhouse at a time and really getting to know the families we work with. The enthusiasm and excitement of the families we work with is what keeps us coming back to work! We have worked with many delightful families throughout the years and have made many friends. We are looking forward to getting to know you too!

Do you ever have sales? Do you offer any deals?
A great playhouse doesn't have to be super expensive. While we don't have "sales", we do have ways to cut corners where the corners won't show on a playhouse design and save you money. Call us and talk to us. We enjoy finding ways to work within the budgets of our clients.

Who are you guys? Are you a reputable company?
We are a small family-run business, and frankly we don't do it because we make a lot of money at it. We do it because it allows us to live the quiet, non-hectic life we want to live. It leaves us free time to feed the chickens, play with children, and visit neighbors.
We have been in business for over 12 years and most of our business to date has been generated by word of mouth. We'd be happy to give you references if you'd like.
